The snakes are about 5-6 inches long. Where is the mother and how many eggs do they usually lay? Haven't seen anymore in about 3 days, does this mean there were only three?

Mother- snake moms do not hang around and care for the nest, eggs, or young (except for a few species that guard the nest/eggs for a while- usually pythons)

Number of eggs depends on the age of the mom, but up to about 20 is common.

Are there more? The REAL question is 'why are they in the house?' The answer to this is that they probably hatched somewhere outside near your house and a few found your place as a possible shelter cave. Young snakes often end up in houses this time of year as they try to locate a good hibernation site.

They don't really want to be there- wrong climate for them, and hard to get back out of. You probably found them as they sought an escape route to look for a better place.

You can just take them to the edge of your yard- ideally near trees and a south-facing hill- and let them go.

There probably are not others there, but you can use a glue trap to monitor this. Look for the glue traps that allow you to release the victim with mineral oil or another agent without harming the victim.

Using this sort of trap allows you to figure out all kinds of things that may be in your house- mice, snakes, bugs, etc. You might be very surprised at how many animals you share the palce with!

If you do use this sort of trap, be sure to check it at least daily.

Wow, can I have one? lol But seriously, by now mom is gone. They are on there own. some could still be hanging around the area though. It depends on where you live. Rat snakes are cool and you can tame them so to speak if you know how to care for a snake. As far as how many eggs? I don't really know. maybe 8 to 10? It depends.

Momma laid the eggs & split a long time ago. Snakes don't care for their young. The rest of the newborns(5-10?) have gone their seperate ways out to the yard or possibly somewhere in the house, who knows? If there's no food for them in the house, they'll try to get outside to hunt.

i can almost gaurantee you have at least a few more rat snakes can lay up to 30 eggs but depending on old momma is only half may hatch parents are both probably gone you may see them in you yard if you live in a wooded area but they are harmless snakes and make good pets if raised right and you like snakes

vegetables arern't as sweet as fruits and other foods with sugar. So they do not taste as good to children, as most children are accustomed to the sweetness of milk, especially breast milk, if breastfed. it is recommended by pediatritians that when starting an infant on solid foods to introduce the vegetables before the fruits. If you introduce fruits first, then veggies, it is likely that the baby will not like the taste nor the texture of the veggies. of course they are going to prefer the sweet taste of fruit over the bland taste of green beans. I now wish i had introduced veggies before fruit to my babies.
