typically you should replace any type of make up like mascara , lip gloss, lipstick and such every three months to prevent the growth of Bactria. As far as you others , suck as foundation and eye shadow and such about once a year to every two years!! Or if possible by expiration dates!!!!

When it starts to dry and/or has lost a smell or develops a smell. I usually don't keep them around for longer than a year if I don't use them often.

I would not use a lipstick longer than 6months if there is no expiration date. Bacteria can build up.

i believe lipsticks are six months.
mascara is one month...i think max is three months.
and foundation is like six months also. but it depends, if you use liquid foundation, just replace the sponge or clean it ever so often.

About a year, give or take a couple months. They are a harbinger of germs, so don't share them either.
