The government did not want it to happen. Where are you coming from?

If you decide to kill someone and don't tell anyone do you expect the government to know about it and stop you?

Are you another conspiracy theorist?

Get real. Terrorists set out to kill as many people as possible and bring down the twin towers and they did. If you are suggesting in any way that the government or anyone else was involved in any way then you join the inhuman terrorist in guilt for the massacre.

The government didn't want or plan it. Those who believe it did operate under two false pretenses:

1. The 9/11 attack would open the door for war with Iraq, that way Bush & Co. could get all that oil. If that was the case, then why use Saudis as the "patsys" on 9/11. Wouldn't have it been more logical to use Iraqi kooks? As for the oil, well that part of the "conspiracy" doesn't seem to be working so well, since Iraqi oil production is well below pre-war levels.

2. The 9/11 attack would allow Bush to suspend the Constitution, declare martial law and declare himself first American empire.

Ask ANY 9/11 conspiracy believer their opinion on the JFK assassination, the Apollo Program, Princess Di's death, Bigfoot, Area 51 or the Bermuda Triangle and you'll ALWAYS get the same answer : those are conspiracies too!.

Conspiracy theory is a mental disorder where we, as individuals have no power. We are secretly controlled by a small minority of super-wealth, who of course, are Jews.

Obviously, a question like this is difficult to answer, so all we can do is speculate. 9/11 I believe was on part connected with the US government. There are too many questions left unanswered and unresolved.

9/11 would and indeed did increase the level of fear among US citizens. Petrified of a new attack, laws were passed which meant the government had the ability to closely watch its people. I just bring to light this quote: "Big Brother Is Watching You", '1984' by George Orwell. Why would the US want to monitor its citizens? Well security for one, but maybe theres something else we dont know about?

9/11 and the subsequent popular "terrorism" label has also provided grounds for invasion/occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq inparticular is controversial because although nothing to do with 9/11 which Bush himself hasn't admitted, its hard to ignore the vast tapped oil reserves in Iraq now under "US Administration".

9/11 also generated a lot of money through insurance policies, which will undoubtedly one way or another find a way into the governments pockets. Previously, a huge insurance policy on the site and been accepted giving vast amounts of money to the people who own the WTC site. Contracts to rebuild the WTC if destroyed were also worth a lot of money.

Personally, I believe one of the major reasons was a "fear factor". To scare the public into believing a man in an arab dress was around every corner ready to kill. Pushing Christian values around the world etc, and to give an excuse for heightened aggression.

Well the Taliban Government felt Americans were evil because of Israel being their ally. Argentina had a building bombed that killed 100s of people in the 1990s. Most people don't even recall this. The building was bombed because of Argentina voted for something in the United Nations that was favorable towards Israel.

It's pretty shameful that there would be someone so evil that they would use civilian casualties as a form of making a political statement.

That would be like an animal rights protester killing employees and their families just because they sell fur coats.

Peaceful protest is the only solution. War eventually always occurs because humans are by their nature, not peaceful people, but animals, like any other, that need to survive and if killing improves the chances of survival, then, that's how it is.

9/11 was the perfect opportunitiy for Bush to invade Iraq and set up Halliburtan enterprises at the expense of all the lives lost on 9/11. Remember all those horror stories Bush had us believe that Iraq attacked us, and how WMDs were everywhere to be found? We now know the true reason why we're there and will continue to remain there until his term is up.

George Bush never said that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, the administration did investigate Iraq's connections prior, but they didnt come up with anything, we went to war to stop saddam from aqquiring nuclear weapons, which he would have had if isreal hadnt bombed his two reactors in the 80's. We didnt want 9/11 to happen but since clinton severly crippled our intelligence in the 90's, something like it was bound to happen.

Fear Tactics. To get America to support the war. Did you notice how it was all of a sudden switched from Terrorism to "Iraq Freedom"? Also, Iraq had nothing to do with the twin towers coming down, yet Bush continues to play that card for support. Most Americans are starting to wake up now. Some don't want to believe it so they refuse the evidence.

Lots of possible reasons. Did you see what happened to Bush's poll numbers and political power after 9-11?

To obtain a reason for a larger U.S. military presence in the Mideast, to secure oil through the spread of democracy. There are books written in the 80's and 90's that eluded to this intention.

Jim Marrs wrote "Rule by Secrecy" published first in 2000. You may wish to read it.
