A brazillian wax can hurt alot - however if you go to a really good salon they are on top of the latest and greatest techniques and it's going to minimize the ouches.

I would STRONGLY recommend that you see a professional. The bikini area is extremely sensitive and if you try to do it yourself you could seriously damage your skin - causing rashes and irritation, permanant ingrown hairs, and in some cases scarring. Not every salon is liscenced to do Brazillian waxes because they are difficult and can cause damage.

Any good salon that does brazillian waxes will apply a lotion for you and in most cases will send you home with more to apply over the next few days.

Some one did recomend witch hazel which in most cases is a good idea however, due to it's drying properties I would not recomend it for an at home job or the bikini area.

Once again I STRONGLY recomend going to a salon - it's alot less embarrasing then you think it is.

everytime i wax (my face, etc) i tell the wax-lady to put this stuff on my face so that i don't break out because i usually do. just ask her, don't be afraid. it's this lotion and it feels really cool against the wax. about the brazilian, my friend just had one and it was red for about one day and then it rashed out a little cause it was her first time. but after that, it should be fine all the other times you do it. it's like waxing your eyebrows except a little more pain. take a painkiller like advil or tylenol half an hour before you go wax. :) good luck.

It does hurt. You have to try it once and see if that's the best option for you. I shave. I do Brazilian wax some times but I am not crazy about it.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

I heard it hurts so bad, there was this woman who lost control of her bowels and the place had to shut down for the rest of the day so they could clean up and deodorize it.

It hurts.. I can not tell a lie! Apply witchhazel on it... It really helps with the burn and redness.
