if im coherant and not in pain, and can do activities that make life worth living, then yes why not. If im confined to a bed, and doped up so that even if i had a lucid pain free moment i wouldnt know about it, and am a burden to my family and country, then no, its not a "life" worth staying around for. You ever read the book "jonny got his gun"? I dont remember what the point was, but its not an existence i would want.

No, I wouldn't. I would hate to still be alive as my loved ones are dying around me. How depressing that would be. And if the aches and pains I have at 46 are any indication, I can't imagine what 116 would be like! No thank you...I hope to live long enough to enjoy a few years of my retirement and to see grandchildren. That's it.

I think it would. I wouldn't want to be in pain. I'd want a pretty sound mind. I'd hope my hubby was there to share it with me. I just don't know. I couldn't imagine the possibility of out living my daughter. That alone would probably be the end of me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what path God has laid for me. I once had my fortune told that I'd live a long and happy life. I'd fight all the way and when the time came, I'd go peacefully. Time will tell, but hopefully for not some time to come.

I'd like to live to 126, which will allow me to have lived through three centuries...born in the 1900's, lived the majority of my life in the 2000 century, and see 2100. Yay!
With the longevity in my family, plus the increased technology and science in the future, plus my yoga & meditation practices, I think I've got a shot. *smile*

Despite some theories to the contrary...our bodies do age as well as our minds. We are so decrepit and in pain, death comes as a peaceful answer. We have no friends left. We are very alone. Even family members could have pre-deceased us. No, I would not like to outlive my usefulness as a functioning human being.

I think I would. I'm an older parent. I had my son when I was 43. I'll be 61 when he graduates High School. I'm afraid I won't be around when the grandkids come, and for other important times.

Yeah, I just read that article too. I wouldn't want to live that long, but imagine what she went through. From the late 1800s to what we have today. If she remembers what it was like back then, it must've been one hell of a trip.

I will live as long as God says. In these times, there is so much negative going on, I shutter to think what I will be exposed to living that long! I really can't say. Maybe if times were better.
