Not really a good idea...and you don't really need to warm the milk, either. Bacteria breed in heat. If you don't want your baby's bottle to be cold, do this: sterilize some water (or buy bottled water specifically for this purpose) and leave it on the counter, closed, and serve the milk at room temperature. I think the warming the milk thing is mostly for breastfed babies being put on formula or weened onto cow's milk--they are used to getting their milk warm, out of the breast, and don't care for cold milk. If you want more information contact your local WIC office, they have some great brochures and stuff.

Reheating once should be fine, but you wouldn't want to keep doing this. Repeatedly heating up the formula would degrade vital nutrients and change the taste of the milk. It would also create a prime breeding ground for bacteria and make the milk spoil faster.

As long as the baby hasn't drank from the bottle it's safe to rewarm it a few times.

If the baby has used the bottle once already and just didn't finish what was left you can't keep the leftover bit and rewarm it.

Once the baby nurses on the bottle the bacteria from the child's mouth are then present on the nipple, and rewarming only causes the bacteria that is not only on the nipple, but in the milk itself to grow ... which only results in the baby getting sick.

purchase a bottle warmer. i offered one for the comparable reason b/c I hated having to run my breast milk below warm water or sit down it in a cup of water b/c while she grow to be hungry..properly she needed it precise then and there. It takes approximately 30 secs or in an attempt to heat up the bottle and that's small so it would not take up lots room on the countertop,. they are no longer that high priced and that they are completely properly worth each and every penny

I wouldn't do it more than once, thats just me though. I really don't know for sure but I always thought that if it was heated and then out long enough to get cold again it probably had been out too long, I always thought it would spoil if it sat out of the fridge that long. anyway like I said, thats just me. But you could try using smaller bottles if he/she isn't drinking it quick enough.

I wouldn't warm it up more than once in the microwave..I think reheating it again in hot water on the stove wouldn't harm it but I wouldn't do that more than once maybe.
