I don't shop by price. I buy what I like. Usually the "name brands" look better, feel better, fit better and will last longer. I think that you should invest in some great well-made clothing that will not go out of style for your basics. There is a huge difference between clothes bought at Wal-mart, and clothes from Gucci.

Why spend a fortune on clothing when you can buy less expensive items that are just as great looking as the expensive ones are? It's foolish to continue spending so much money on what's "in" fashion because wearing what you personally like and feels great too is far more stylish to many others.
Don't let yourself be guided by what others say is the style now because you will end up either having a yard sale or just give away those items in a few weeks or months and that's a pure waste of good money anyway.
Life is way to short to waste money on something that will be out of style but buying something that you like and feel good wearing will never go out of style.

I would rather buy something cheaper than pay $100 for a pair of jeans. Of course you risk buying something that might not last as long, but that can go for any item at any price. For example:
If I were to buy a shirt from Target for five bucks and got a grease stain on it, I wouldn't fret since it was five bucks.
If I were to buy a shirt that was $55 dollars and got a grease stain on it, I'd be really freakin pissed.
Clothes are just clothes and if it costs more just because a designer label, that's just insane. I saw a pair of jeans going on ebay for $800. Sad thing is, people pay for that.

I usually buy clothing based on price and have yet to notice a difference between them and the more expensive brands.
However, my wife says that all the discount brand childrens clothes we've ever had for the kids fell apart while the good brands stayed together.
My wife seems to buy a lot of good brands and her clothes are in good shape for a long time.
So I guess it depeneds on what you like to wear and how you wear it. I wear jeans and T-shirts and the cheap ones are just fine. My kids are girls so skirts, slacks and fancy tops I guess should be good brands.

It's good to have both.
We all need everyday clothes & these clothes could be ruined easily - therefore cheaper items are preferable.
When going out for the night - designer is the way to go. These clothes don't have to be really expensive, you can get them cheaper on sites such as E-Bay or in a charity shop.
If your clothes feel good, then you will feel good.

yes and No, Cheapky buy fad or trendy pieces, as you wont get much use out of them for the following season. Staple pieces, things youll wear more than once and can mix with any look, you spend the bucks for. Though, even when shopping cheaply, watch what you buy, most wont last the washer and dryer, and you want them to at least the whole season or 2. So, on sale quality clothing is your best bet, as opposed to just cheap clothing

Yeah.. if your friends care about designer clothes and how much you paid.. then you need new friends.. and if people judge you by that rather than what's important.. tell them to get lost.
I don't think it's important.. you can get good clothes at cheaper prices that look like the expensive ones.. plus you'll have extra spending money.

You would think that because the clothing is more expensive, then they would last longer. But that is not always the case. Go for something durable that is stylish depending on your taste. Nothing is worse then buying something that you can't wear after a couple of washes.

I don't think so. More expensive clothing (usually) lasts longer, so it's a kind of investment. Also, cheaper clothing, besides being poorly made, usually looks cheaper and has a worse fit than more expensive clothing.

Buy clothing of fair, average and merchantable quality.Neither the cheapest, to look geeky, nor the most expensive.
Your clothing should match YOU. Expensive clothing only matches if you really are wealthy with money. Otherwise, it's fakey.
