It is actually a serious issue especially as you are getting older; your body has increased difficulty getting rid of toxins and the like, including sperm, which can indeed end up "rotting" inside of you.... However:

Excess semen is often released through urine when your body hasn't ejaculated in over 3 or 4 days or so. The real trouble concerning the male's "need" to ejaculate is mostly in terms of keeping the equipment (i.e. prostate) from shutting down.

The easiest way to keep your prostate in check (& this is the lazy man's easy way out) is to ejaculate at least once every 2 days after the age of 25. Of course this isn't an exact figure and not every man is built the same, but as a general rule, this is the easist way to help avoid complications later in life.

You can also take more zinc in your daily diet, as well as incorporate exercising the PC muscle on a daily basis, easilly very good (to the best) way to keep your euqipment from slowly clogging up, if you catch my drift.

You should consult your doctor if you have concerns about the long term effects of not keeping your prostate in check. That's why it is almost "mandatory" for men above the age of 25 to get annual prostate checks.

To be quite honest, I can't think of a better way to keep my gear in check than having to please myself on a daily basis...
