because that's about how many jews there were in europe 20 years before hitler started his genocide against them.
There was a lot of anti-semetism going on in europe at the time.
uh... what's your point? Are you trying to use this as some evidence or justification to your own mind that the holocaust was some kind of hoax? Hardly. This seems like evidence to support that there really used to be that many Jews in europe- that were no longer there after WWII.
