fish lay eggs so I doubt your fish is pregnant

Depends on the fish, and if it has a mate. If it is a live-bearer - and there is a male - it is most likely pregnant. Other types of fish do swell when they are about to lay eggs. There is illnesses that will do this as well, bloat, swim bladder disorder, and many other things. Without a species and information about how long the fish has been like this, if there are any others like it, and so on, no one can really give you a good solid answer - sorry. Feel free to email me though and I can see what I can do :)

yes yes its fine cut down to feeding once a day or half of what u usually feed just wait and see if she is pregnant then the fish will more than likely eat the eggs but you might get a few thattll survive ... good luck if so

It's actually much safer for the mother if you leave her in her current environment to give birth. Moving her while noticably pregnant often causes premature birth and/or death to the mother and babies. A separate molly tank with lots of live plants would be a better option. The babies will hide and are less likely to be eaten. The best live plants in my experience are anacharis (aka; elodea) and cabomba. They are soft and they like to eat them as well as hide in them. Great for babies to thrive and grow.

The breeder boxes or breeder nets that hang on the inside of the tank are terrible to use. They are too small and will cause her a great deal of stress. I use them in emergencies only for injured fish or fish that are getting picked on. They then have to be moved to a regular separate tank in a couple of days. Otherwise they can't get enough exercise or hiding places and become depressed. It basically makes them more sick than they were. Just not a good contraption for long term use if you want your fish to be healthy!!!hope you get some new babys good luck

Play soccer each and daily for an hour or 2 and you will see the variations.

It may have dropsy. If so, I'm sorry, but no one has found a cure. Just isolate him from the other fish so they don't catch it. Check with a vet first, it may not be the case, but if your fish does have dropsy, I'm really sorry. (DON'T KILL IT, JUST ASK ABOUT IT FIRST!) If the problem is actually only obeseity, I suggest to feed it less. If there are other fish in the tank, isolate it to feed the fish less food. When the fatness goes away, you can rejoin him with his friends. (Still, please ask a vet.)

Im no expert but I thought fish lay eggs. Maybe it is just fat. Either way I think you need to seperate it from the rest in the tank. It could be ill and if so you don't want it to contaminate the rest of your fish.

What kind of fish is it? Most fish lay eggs, but a few (like guppies) give birth to live babies instead.

If there are other, larger types if fish in the same tank, I would try removing the fat one to a differen tank, to make sure the eggs/babies don't get eaten.

if the fish didn't start out fat it probably is and deepen ding on what kind you'll probably need a breeder net but only if the fish is a live breeder if not just have another tank to put here in so when she lays her eggs they'll be safe as so as you take her out of course

What kinds of fish is it that we are talking about? Sometimes fish get a parasite called "bloat" which is treatable, but only if detected in enough time as to perform the necessary treatment.
