Hey che_lumen,
I have one, he is Dr. Joseph Juran. Dr. Juran is a QUALITY expert, sent to Japan to rebuild after WWII. His ideas are the cornerstone of our better products today. Without getting into the details, he has influenced the direction of today's society more than any president - and it is safe, healthy, money saving, peaceful help.

There are many heros out there doing their jobs every day. One famous hero that comes to mind is John Walch (America's Most Wanted). He took the worst possible tragedy in his life and turned it into a way to make the world a better place. To me that is a true hero.

We already do have heroes... enough.
George W. for instance, Putin. And also Saddam
seems to be a "hero". Honest. What we need is
normal humans. Heroes are very good — for
the movies. But keep them there. They do not go
together with real life and our little problems.
Can You imagine "Mask" or "Batman" or Neo from
"Matrix" paying taxes or bringing little children to
the kindergarten ?! I don't think so. It does not work
this way. A hero is a hero and he belongs to another
space like comic-books, novels, legends AND: movies.

Amen, Poindexter..
Was reading the answers and yours was what I was going to say.. Every man, woman and child, in the US, is a hero.. we put up with more stuff than anyone should have to, and daily, we help our brothers and sisters, (fellow citizens,) in their times of need, and there are lots of those..
What is more, we see disasters in other parts of the world and rush to help, with both money AND manpower..
Katrina is the first and only time I have ever seen foreign countries offer the US any kind of aid. but, some of that was in a gloating sort of way.. not very heroic..
When the US helps, we expect nothing in return, only to get safely back to our country.
People's houses burn, and neighbors rush to help.. a car accident on the road, people rush to help... anytime there is a need, people rush to help... we have our heroes, they don't wear fancy suits, or capes, ain't bulletproof, and can't see through walls, but, they are heroes, just the same.
America isn't perfect.. I couldn't claim that and not roll on the floor in laughter, but, we come very close to it.
God bless and keep you.

We need heros everyday - someone to look up to and emulate.
The great thing is you can be a hero, I can be a hero - anyone can be a hero they just have to make the decision to do so.

we don't need a hero, we need to BE the hero...we see superheroes save people from very dangerous events, we can do the same if we can just help others...if someone is drowning, throw a life preserver or if you know how to swim, save the victim...
we can even be a hero for the simple things, like the environment...we can just clean our own backyard and recycle our cups, plastics and paper...
do anything simple like that and you're already a hero...

Nope, you just need to believe in yourself. Heroes are temporary, like everything else.
