My daughter (17), was thrown out of her home by her mother last week, and has not been seen by friends or family since for three days now.
I'm separated from her mother, but am anxious for her safety.
Am i being over the top, or should I contact the police ?

Get in touch with the police asp, with a bit of luck your daughter is with a friend somewhere and getting friends to say they haven't seen her just to have her mother worry for throwing her out, it will put your mind at rest and hopefully give you all the chance to sit down as a family and sort everything out, good luck.

yes it has been long enough or maybe too long but yes you need to contact the police and start a search for your daughter. These days it is not safe for any girl to be out on the street alone. when you fine her have her come to your house or set her up in a little apartment.

I don't know your daughter or how able she is to be sensible and look after herself.

However, if she has not been seen by any friends or family for three days now, I suggest you speak to the police.

Obviously they will follow up as many lines of enquiry as you can give them and hopefully find her safe and well.

It is sad that she did not feel able to come to you when her mum threw her out.

Speak to her mother too.

Good luck.

Ok, she is still a minor, with a minor missing within 24-48 hours, you should've called the police and sent out an amber alter. Good luck.

Yes you maybe should as the police consider a missing person to be one who has not been seen within 24 hours I'm sure.

Call the police. at 17 she is not an adult, she needs consent from parent to leave before she 18. so really shes a missing child.

That is your daughter, contact the police... There are too many crazy people out there in the world, you would never forgive yourself if something happened that maybe you could have prevented... Better safe then sorry... I can see why you made your X, your X... God bless....

you should have contacted the police long before now. a person is reported missing as soon as possible, it is then up to the authourities to decide when to look for her. I think it is after 24 hours that the authorities decide to start the search.
