Yahoo! toolbar's antispy has been replaced with Norton Spyware Scan. Do not confuse this with Norton Internet Security. Norton Spyware Scan is totally free and scans only for spyware while Norton Internet Security is a commercial (i.e. you have to pay for it) all-in-one security suite.

Go to http://toolbar.yahoo.com and download the most recent version of Yahoo toolbar 6.3.2.3 with Norton Spyware Scan. There are two download images on the webpage, make sure you choose the upper right one and not the lower right one, which is the one with the Norton Internet Security suite. Be sure to uninstall your current Yahoo! toolbar before installing the new one. It probably doesn't matter but to be on the safe side you should uninstall the old toolbar.

I think you will be pleased with the new Norton Spyware Scan. I already have an antispyware application but I use Norton anyway. The old Yahoo! anti-spy took only 30 seconds to scan my computer. I don't trust a anti-spy which takes such little time to scan my computer. It is not thorough or comprehensive. The old anti-spy was good for detecting tracking cookies and minor adware; otherwise, it wasn't good for anything else. This is not the same with Norton Security Scan. It is thorough and there are regular updates to the search engine; without new spyware signatures, any anti-spyware application is useless.

Dunno. But you don't have to pay for antispyware. Go to Ad-aware and get their download.
Just because it's not on the bar doesn't mean it's not on the comp. You probably just need to find the ware in your program files and move an icon to the internet files.

customize the toolbar and then make sure the anti spyware is there and it is not hidden.
