Word of advice if you are dramatically changing look don't do it. Sorry, but just do it gradually, first loose the eye liner, then ease some colour into it... until you are totally de-gothified. Then the final step, find your own look. This you should definetly do, because you'll never'll get sick of it.

Well, throw out all of your shredded black clothes and only keep one or two items that look "normal". Go to various stores and buy things that look pretty and feminine instead of gloomy. Try to keep your outfits simple with as little accessories as possible. You should take out any facial piercings you might have. That will really soften your look. If you have shaved/over plucked your eyebrows, let them grow out and give them a more rounded shape and arch. Be modest when you put on makeup, especially your eye makeup. Use lighter more natural colors that compliment your skin and give you a "fresh" natural look. Instead of wearing lipstick you could use a tinted lip balm or sheer lip gloss. If your hair is dyed black or harsh against your skin tone you could go to the salon and see if they could lighten it up a bit for you. DON'T wear super chunky/platform shoes. The most important thing you should try is to smile more often. People who look happy are always considered more attractive. I hope that helps!

I would go back to what is originaly you. If you were a brunette go back to that and build on it. Try colors that are not so dark, the options are endless and if you shop at the end of each season you can get some sweet deals. Dont be afraid to step out of the box a little it is a good thing.

Most people ditch goth in favor or punk or emo, but if you want something completely different, I say just go totally straight. Clean, new prep clothes, minimal makeup, few if any piercings, dye your hair a completely natural color, and throw away anything black or fishnet or androgynous. At the very least, it'll freak your friends out totally.

I made a similar change, your best shot i think would be buy some magazines and pin point which style you like the best and go for it, i went to thrifty stores and such to buy clothes and accesories and didn't spend very much. And take the picture of your favorite hair cut to the salon with you, that way you get exactly what you want. :) Good luck!

marykay.com has a virtual makeover. get some caramels and blondes and light browns in your hair. and as for clothes its ok to wear black but make sure your wearing only one or two things black. if you wear a black shirt wear light blue pants and black shoes. i do not think you should go to hollister and buy preppy clothes. make your style flow with the styles of today. if you have a light complection wear yellow or a pastel kind of blue. it will look good

go to the store and pick out things that you would never try on. take them to the fitting room and see how they look. You just might amaze yourself at how good you look. and if you totally want to go to the other extreme. go to the salon and get your hair done. color it. and cut it. Have them do your makeup too. in pinks and reds.

A good place to start would be to throw away all the black clothes, shoes, and makeup that you own.
