My ficus is 6 feet tall and produces way to much sap. It sticks to my nice wood floor. Is it a true ficus tree? Can it be replaced with a tree that doesn't do the same for inside my house? I would like to have a tree that grow's tall for my great room. I would replace it if anyone has suggestions!

The sap is coming out of the leaves and there are no bugs. Thought it might be due to root bound but, transferred the tree 3 times and nothing different. So, it's been sleeping outside the house (come rain or shine) for the past month.

Where is that sap coming from? There may be bugs on it sucking its juices that could be treated by spraying soapy water on the leaves. Look it over. I have had a ficus tree for decades and never got a speck of sap coming out of it.

Go with a palm tree if it annoys you (even a banana palm with giant leaves since it is indoors protected from cold weather).

They have really nice artificial trees that look good and produce absolutely NO sap.
