Ok. I was at a garage sale this weekend, and my boyfriend found a gameboy advance for sale. The kid wanted $5.00 for it, including a Super Mario Game. It is in like perfect condition, no scratches, clean, and in color. My boyfriend bought it off the kid for 10.00 figured he would throw him an extra 5.00 cause it was a good deal...do you think so?

Also, are all the games for GameBoy advance useable for both regular gameBoy and SP? I don't have the SP...i have the regular one...(not flip open)..can I still play any game on that that is for GB Advance?

That was a great deal. You can play the same games on both the gameboy advance and the sp. They're the same system, the SP just has a different "flip" design, it's screen is brighter, and it has a rechargeable battery.

you have the original gba, then. it doesn't have it's own light, nor a rechargable battery. generally, those sell for about 20$ as one answerer already stated.

it can play any gameboy game, any gameboy color game, and any gameboy advance game.

you can purchase a rechargable battery/dock for about 3-8 more bucks, but it will probably be hard to find in a store. so here is an ebay link to one such item - http://cgi.ebay.com/Game-Boy-Advance-Power-Grip-Advance-Recharger-Pack-NEW_W0QQitemZ8271469947QQihZ020QQcategoryZ41035QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

elsewise, it takes two AA batteries, and they die pretty fast.

the kid at the garage sale probably has an SP, elsewise he wouldn't have sold the gba. trade in value for the system is very low, because no one really buys them anymore, now that the sp is common. (the sp goes for 60$, used, but requires no batteries, it recharges).

it looks to me like both the seller and the buyer lucked out.

The game boy advanced right now brand new is about $80. I have found some used ones for $50, but no lower than that. The game boy could be broken and still have been a good deal for your boyfriend, he'd just have to pay a little more (but overall less than $50) to get it fixed. He definitely got a good deal.

Your bf got a great deal. I bought one at a garage sale for 20 bucks and sold it back to game stop (which isn't the best deal giver in the world) and still made money off the thing. I think I got 35 dollars for it when I sold it back, then they turned around and sold it for 50...
