It is completely normal for a new born baby to sllep alot. If it continues to sleep alot once it's past 6 months then something could really be wrong. Take it from me, I have two small children. They always sleep more when they're little. Another thing to keep in mind is that it might be nice while they are sleeping you can get alot done, but also remember it is nice to some times take a nap with them. It will help you out in the long run!!

Actually it is normal because if you think about it, your two month old is growing so fast and there are so many changes that is occurring in your two month old. Enjoy it while it last because when your two month old gets older, he or she may not sleep as much but if this is not true, bring the concern to his or her pediatrician. For two month olds, it is normal to sleep for 15-17 hrs. per day. :)

enjoy it. My first baby slept like that until about 3 months. Then she got the colic had it for about 2 months. That was stressful. She only slept about 15 to 20 min at a time. So really take every ones advise and enjoy it while it lasts.

Here is an exerpt: How do I know how much sleep my child needs at different ages?
Like many human behaviors, sleep needs vary widely among individuals, and babies are no exception,” says Dr. Karen Sadler, a pediatrician in the Boston area and Associate Instructor of Pediatrics and Boston University School of Medicine. “A newborn sleeps, on average, 16 hours per day, but this can range from 11 to 23 hours per day! Brand new babies have no day/night distinction, and the length of their sleep is limited by their hunger, requiring them to eat every 3 to 4 hours at max.”

Its perfectly normal///my son started soing this at 2-1/2 weeks. He would go down at night at about 9pm...waske up at about 7 or 8...nurse and go back to sleep for another couple of hours. You ar lucky...don't tell too many new mothers though. every time I told people they were mad at me that their babies didn't do the same thing...its fine!!

nope, thats about right. She wont really be awake for hours at a time until around three months, and even then it will still be only 3-4 hours at a stretch.

Girl, enjoy it while it lasts. Every baby is different but thats seems perfectly normal to me. Just enjoy the peace and quiet, it won't last long and you'll miss it once he/she becomes more active. Congrats and good luck sweetie.
