I have never worn any foundation or make up. When I get "dolled" up I apply eyeliner, mascara, blush and lip gloss. That's it. I don't want to look like something that should be lying in a coffin in the funeral home.
Please tell your friend all that make up is clogging her pores and when she is older, she will have tons of wrinkles. I am 40 and I easily pass for 25-27.

the natural look is always best. your are probably right about the caked on foundation. If you think it's appropriate then you should just tell her that you like her natural face a lot and that she doesn't need that much foundation to cover it up. She will probably take it as a compliment this way so she will not get mad at you either. Hope I helped!

Yeah, natural make-up is definitely more beautiful, especially during the day. If you put a little more make-up on at night, that's ok, but a ton of foundation is never pretty. It looks fake and ages you 20 years. If you want to metion it to your friend, try slipping it in by asking if you can give her a make-over, and show her how to put foundation on properly, or show her that she doesn't need it at all (if you give it in the form of a compliment, she'll be more likely to listen). You could also slip in that foundation is horrible for the skin and will cause tons of wrinkles.

Perhaps your friend is trying to conceal a skin problem. It's common for people to plaster the foundation on if they have bad skin convinced that it covers it, but it just draws more attention to it. If this is the case, help her to find products to improve her complexion then she'll only need a bit of concealer or powder.
I reckon you should only use make up to enhance features not totally cover them up or make them look garish.
It's a cliche, but true that if you make up your eyes dramatically, play down your lipstick to a light colour and vice versa, unless you're going for the drag queen look!
Perhaps as she's young, your friend is experimenting with make up and just going a little overboard. Book her in for a class in how to apply it professionally at a departmant store beauty counter or beauty academy. She should get the hint then!
Tell your friend that she's lucky not to need make up! Alot of people need a little to look alive at least!

I have a friend that used to cake on her foundation and powder back in the day. It was totally the wrong color. Her face was orange and her neck was white. I would ALWAYS tell her to blend that $h!t. So one day she showed up with nothing but mascara and lipstick. She looked sooooooo much better.

Yes, it does depend on your skin type. Some that I know will wear too much when they simply could just put a little foundation or powder and look natural.

The young are susceptible to temporary skin blemishes, pimples, etc. and maybe heavy makeup is being used to hide this condition. Maybe professional makeup people could be consulted for the best help? I mean like really experienced people in places where they sell the stuff, and will suggest things for free advice?

I prefer the natural look or the use of make-up to enhance the natural beauty. Women who use excessive make-up are a huge turn off for me. Maybe you could offer to do your friends make-up for her and show her the proper way to use it.

Natural looks best on any kind of person dark, light any1 !!!
Go for a little blusher, clear lipgloss, gold/brown eyeshadow, eyeliner, and some mascara !!!!!! I know it looks better than
fake- tan cause I put it on (and I have tanned skin) and I looked like a tart !!!!!!!! ("p)

I agree, less makeup shows the natural beauty every woman posesses. light eyeshadow and some lip gloss does make your features pop. That is all the make up that i own!!
