Tropical Storm Ernesto (40 mph) is moving northwestward over eastern Cuba. Heavy rainfall on the order of 6 to 12 inches, possibly more, is the main threat for the island nation. Ernesto is forecast to push into the Straits of Florida tomorrow, and into south Florida tomorrow evening, probably as a minimal hurricane. Hurricane watches have been extended northward along the east coast of Florida as far north as New Smyrna Beach. Hurricane watches are now in effect along the Florida coast from Chokoloskee (on the southwest coast) to New Smyrna Beach, for the Keys, and for Lake Okeechobee. Hurricane watches are also posted for Grand Bahama and Andros Island.

Live on the West coast, mile from beach. So far, just watching its path. Now making tourist leave the Keys. From Deerfield beach, down and around, beware notices.
