The reindeer that pull the sleigh are: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder (or Donner, he likes both since some of the small reindeer have trouble saying 'Donder'), Blitzen, and of course -- Rudolph. There are many other reindeer who live at the North Pole but there is not room to list them all.

There are 9 which pull his slaigh. As listed above.
But we can asume that he has many more, for breeding and other pousposes.
I would say a heard of about 30-50 (if no more), including male and female deer. Some which pull the slaigh, other woking in the factory/workshops, and others for breeding and rasing the young fawns.
I'm sure there are also wild deer around, whcih he doesn't own, but takes care of.
I hope this helps.

8, not including Rudolph.
However, the legend of Santa Claus is pretty old and varies between cultures, so I would not be surprised if the number has varied throughout the years and in different places.

He had eight, but it was really foggy one Christmas eve, and he had to be able to see, so he got Rudolph (Donner the reindeer's son) to glow his red nose and lead the way! So he ended up having nine reindeer.
