I am thinking this is less of a mouse problem and more of a virus thing. Sometimes it works if you click about 20 times quickly, but most of the time it doesn't, which makes running a cleanup program a problem. Left clicking still sometimes drags icons, but rarely works to run them. Tabbing + Enter rarely works as well. Anyone heard of this? Do I need to take my PC in to get fixed? BTW, right click works fine.

This should be easy to figure out. Go into control panel, and open up the mouse properties. Assign "click" to the right mouse button and "right-click" to the left mouse button, switching them. If you still have the difficulty using the right button instead, you're right and the problem's in your computer. If it works fine, then you have a broken mouse.

Have you tried using another mouse to see if it is the mouse that is having the problem. It will be costly to bring your pc into the store to have it repair and they find out it is the mouse. Also, if you think it is some virus, download some virus tools and scan your pc to eliminate this possiblity. Have you confirm in control panel that your mouse is configured correctly?

My bet would be that the mouse button have a bad spring, happend to me once, just in case, try with a different mouse, get a friend's.

If not get a new one, the are not so expensive, if you have one of those expensive mouse, go to customer service and use your warranty to get it fixed or replaced.
