I loved that book!

You can get a lot of information about Christopher and his background from the types of things he obsesses over. Also, OCD is generally (and I think the book portrays it this way) either a reaction to or exacerbated by a perceived lack of control over one's environment. Since Christopher cannot control the large circumstances of his life (his mother's absence, etc), he tries to control the minutia.

Apparently someone has used a quotation from
someone else as a title. I know nothing about
Christopher. "The curious incident of the dog in
the night time" is a quotation from Arthur Conan
Doyle's Sherlock Holmes story titled Silver Blaze.
In this story, which involves the death of a horse
trainer, Holmes and a policeman are discussing
the case. The policeman says "Is there any point
to which you would wish to draw my attention.
Holmes answers "To the curious incident of the
dog in the night time." The policeman says "The
dog did nothing in the night time" and Holmes
replies "That was the curious incident."
