The alcohol in a 12 oz. beer roughly (depending on the brand) equals the alcohol in a 1.5 oz. shot of liquor (vodka, whiskey, etc.) or a glass of wine.

Beer has a low alcohol content which slows the pace of your getting drunk somewhat. That can be good. Beer has (much) more net carbohydrate for protein dieters. My guess is that overall, red wine is probably the most nutritious alcoholic drink. Stick to 2 drinks or less per day. This level is perhaps unharmful for some, and may even have some benefits.

Beer typically contains 4% alcohol, wine 8% and hard stuff... just divide the Proof number by 2 for the percent alcohol. Since they all contain alcohol... it's more of a matter of percent than it is anything else.

One 12oz beer, 8oz glass of wine and one shot of liquor have about the same amount of alcohol(for the most part)... each of those will raise your "blood alcohol content" by .025. These numbers are all general and are a mean.

Many people fool themselves into thinking if they just drink beer, which contains alcohol, they're not alcoholic because they don't drink whiskies. Either can become an addiction that is terribly difficult to overcome. Beer gets you buzzed slower than hard drinks if that is your question.

Assuming you mean hard alchohol (drinks with 30% alchohol content or higher) vs beer, it can be.

Dark beer (NOT lagers/pilsners like, for example, Budweiser) contains high amounts of antioxidants which can help keep you healthy, prevent heart disease, senility and cancer. Red wine and black tea do the same job. Recent studies have also shown that one alchoholic drink a day (of any sort) lengthens your lifespan and actually keeps you healthier than if you were a teetotaler (someone who doesn't drink).

HOWEVER, if you consume more than 2 drinks a day, the benefits cease and you become MORE likely to become sick, die sooner, etc.

So, ideally, a dark beer or a glass of red wine a day is much healthier for you than other alchoholic drinks.

Beer of course contains alcohol. Spirits are much higher in alcohol content, hence ppl do not drink a pint of vodka ( unless they are on a suicide mission)
Beers, proper ones not the American Bud $hite, have some amazing effects on the palette and taste buds.
Try Belgian Trappist beer if you can get it.

BUT DO NOT DO IT TO GET PI$$ED

Respect your liver you will need it in later life.

Trust me on that one

Beer IS alcohol. Alcohol is good for you in moderation i.e a unit or so a day. Red wine is best of all for you.

Pretty much the same thing. There is alchohal in beer. I wouldn't drink period. Drink pop, water, juice and milk. Alcohol screws up your life.

Best to not drink at all. Those funny beer comercials are so wrong. Nothing funny about alcholism.
