Try a Chiropractor. I had trouble with my sciatic nerve before I got pregnant. It actually got better with pregnancy, although my OB said it would get worse. My OB doesn't believe in chiropractic treatment, but he said if it made me feel better, then do it. Chiropractors have tables that the stomach portion folds down so you can lie face down. I know many pregnant women that got relief from the Chiropractor.
If you don't want to try that, then the only other suggestion I have is stretching or yoga. Loosening up your joints may help - just take it slow.

Hey,
I found many interesting info about sciatica here: http://curesciatica.toptips.org
While looking for a miracle cure, it has to be understood that sciatica pain in itself is not a disease. It is actually a symptom or a group of symptoms with an underlying cause that needs to be targeted if some sort of permanent pain relief is what one is looking for. But one thing is absolutely clear. Incorporating a few exercises that have a beneficial effect on sciatica pain in daily regime is of great help and whether a patient is taking drugs or not, these exercises ensure that his muscles are kept in a toned condition that lessen any flare up of pain. Just a few stretching exercises can bring about a drastic change in the levels of pain and signify the importance of exercise in the management of sciatica pain.

i have had that problem ever since i was pregnant with my son 4 yrs ago. when i was just pregnant with my daughter the obgyn said there is nothing you can do about the pain (just know i switch obgyn's in my 7th month...). what i reccomend is which ever side is giving you pain- stay off it. walk carefully (i almost fell to the floor several times pregnant or not). when u walk, expect it to just start hurting out of nowhere. sit with a pillow behind your lower back. that's all i can think of that might help. when you sleep lay on your left side and put a pillow between your legs so your hips aren't crooked from your leg hangning down. it should help a little...might not solve the probelm. hang in there you're almost done! the pain may not go away completely but after the baby is born it should be reduced a lot.

I have a good stretch from my physical therapist. I am obviously not pregnant, so I have to say be careful not to fall while you try this. Lay on your back on left side of a bed. Pull both knees in toward your chest, grasping behind the knee with your hands. Now, slowly let the left leg slide down, foot toward the floor while holding the right. You should feel a great stretch in your left hip flexor muscles. Let it stretch for 10-20 sec. whatever is comfortable, and switch sides. My hip actually pops every time I do this and that's how I can tell it is working. good luck.

go see a chiropractor! (there are even ones who specializes in pregnancy.) i saw one during my second pregnancy and it made a world of difference towards the end. i had a 9 1/2 pounder with no problem, and i am pretty small! the back and hip problems were so much better after treatments.
many chiros also have massage therapists on staff, and the added relief from that is wonderful (not to mention quite pampering!)
my husband is now a chiropractor, so now with weekly treatments (how convenient!!) i have had now problems at all this time around!
hope you feel better quickly!

Boy do I know how you feel. I am currently 8 1/2mths pregnant but since I was 6 1/2mths I was having the same pains. I wasn't getting any sleep. It felt like charlie horse cramps. I couldn't even move!! I took a big chance and bought the 4inch memory foam pad to go on my bed. WOW!!!! What a difference it made. I don't have the pain anymore at all!!!!!!! We really hated to spend the money but we thought it was even dumber for me to go without any sleep or rest because of the pain. I bought mine at overstock.com. For a king size 4inch memory foam with free pillows..I paid 136.00 shipping and all. I found a coupon on theinternet that helped. I hope this info helps you out! Good Luck and Congrats...you're getting there!

Body pillows work, massage and stretching (for as much as you can do it!). I had a friend give me a jar of bath stuff, Masada Joint and Muscle relief. You can usually find it at any Whole Foods or Safeway. As always, consult your doctor before using the product. Also, Tiger balm your back when you get done with your bath. Good luck, I remember the pain all too well.

I sympathize with you. Go see a good chiropractor. I just got over 7 weeks of sciatica because the chiro was out of the country. It took two adjustments for me to feel perfectly normal again.
Good luck.

Do you REALLY want to know what makes this pain go away?!
Giving birth! I had the same thing with my last two pregnancies and I'd be walking and my legs would go numb! THe baby is just positioned on that nerve and there's nothing..BUT child birth to relieve that! Sorry! I know what you're going through...just keep re adjusting yourself and taking pain meds isn't really gonna help...I've had 4 kids...save the Tylenol for when they're teenagers or PRE teens...that's when you'll REALLY need it!!
