What word? Do you want the spanish word for "word"?? That would be "palabra". Other than that, your guess is as good as mine if you don't specify what word you want.

"el" - masculine, singular
"los" - masculine, plural
"la" - feminine, singular
"las" - feminine, plural

el chico - the boy
los chicos - the boys
la chica - the girl
las chicas - the girls

"The" depends on the gender of the noun, and if it is plural or not.
