wifi is not slower if you have a good wireless router. If you use a wifi card in your laptop or other device you can connect anywhere there is a wireless (wifi) router. Wifi is getting very popular and is available on many devices. I have a laptop, my 3 sons have a nintendo ds with wifi, and my palm pilot also uses wifi. I can connect all of these at once on my home wifi router. You can also go to certain wifi hotspots such as motels, some mcdonalds and many other places as well. Wifi is great for traveling but it is also great for home use. It is not slower than a hardwired connection, there are different speed cards. Get the highest mbps card you can afford. There are also different speed internet connections. For example, if you have cable internet, ask for a wifi router and get the highest mbps connection you can afford. Remember, you pay more for speed.

A wireless card is basically an antenna that you can put in computers in order to connect wirelessly to a nearby router and then to the internet. I bought one just recently, and it runs amazingly, just as reliably as a cord plugged into the computer. You can also use them to connect to the internet in certain stores, like McDonalds or Barnes and Nobles book stores.

it is a device that you can get wifi signal. It is wireless internet. You can make use of that in shopping centers, airports, some supermarkets, etc. But for your home use, just get a normal internet connection. due to my experience, wifi is much slower.
