Someone left a cigarette fall on my carpet at a party and it must have somehow burned into the carpet before i found it (it was out then, thank heavens). I\ve tried everything and i don't have the cash to purchase a new wall to wall carpet.
thanks for any kind of advice you can give me.

my friend had some kind of cleaner called crown cleaners or somethin like that, this guy was going door to door to sell it. Its concentrated and it worked on anything. And he used it on carpet burns, it obviously doesn't get rid of the hole but it did get rid of the burnt coloring that it left behind from cigarettes. I would google it or something....hope this helps a lil

having worked in floor care for a few years I found that I could sometimes remove just one or two fibers of carpet if I was really careful. This didn't get rid of the problem, but it did make it less noticeable. I must stress how important it is to only remove a couple of fibers, as more than that will leave a noticable "hole" in the carpet. As far as the "stain" is concerned, what you have is burnt carpet, and not a stain, sorry for your bad fortune, that stinks.

If you are lucky enough to have a closet with the same carpet, cut a small piece out and replace the burned section with it. I did this with a carpet melted by a Christmas tree light and it worked fine.

depending on the type of carpet it is you can always do whats call patching...that is you cut a small square from the carpet and replace it with a piece of a remnant matching it....or you could just purchase an inexpensive throw rug to cover it
