You know what? I've wondered the exact same thing! But i started thinking about it, and maybe it really does.... Have you ever seen a sheep get sheared? Have you noticed how their fur actually comes of in what looks like a pelt? i mean, usually when hair or fur gets shaved off, it doesn't stick together like that unless it's still attached to skin... So, maybe their fur really does shrink up a little and it's so curly that it gets all matted together really tight which would enable it to be sheared off in blankets...
but you know what? I really hate it when my clothes shrink... unless, of course, I'm purposely washing them to make them shrink... I've done that with some shirts of mine...

First of all, sheep don't shrink because they are live animals. Kind of like when we take a bath our skin doesn't stay permanently shriveled up, it goes back to normal, whereas dead people become permanently bloated..
Clothing can shrink in the wash, but mostly they shrink in the dryer. My recommendation is that you wash clothing with Woolite by hand washing after reading the label on the clothing and wash it on cold. Dry the clothes by hanging it up, not in the dryer. This minimizes the shrinkage.

Clothes only shrink in the dryer. Run a wet sheep through a dryer and find out.

Sheep aren't made of clothing. Things shrink because they have been woven, and that can tighten when washed. Raw wool won't shrink when it's washed, and animals can't shrink when it rains.

interior the experience that your cotton clothing don't have written on the label "Pre-decreased in length", then assume that they are going to decrease on the 1st wash/dry, esp. for clothing with severe cotton content fabric. some will decrease greater beneficial ideal than diverse, yet lots of the time, you will now no longer even observe. sure, it fairly is real that washing in heat water will improve shrinkage, as nicely the indisputable actuality that it fairly isn't to any extent further the only element. to diminish decrease back shrinkage, it fairly is larger substantial to diminish decrease back the agitation interior the washing gadget to sluggish. Your mind-blowing approximately it being greater beneficial suited to bathe in heat water, b/c the climate of the detergent will develop into greater beneficial energetic at greater beneficial temperature (diverse than for Tide Coldwater, it relatively is the only detergent designed with factors to paintings greater beneficial suited in chilly water). in case you decide on for to bathe in chilly/cool water to help with minimizing shrinkage yet you even if elect sturdy cleansing, in fact run the washing gadget for an prolonged era, the factors elect greater beneficial time to paintings. by way of the time the garment gets to the dryer, any skill shrinkage ought to have already took place, yet as quickly as you dry at severe temp which will reason the moisture to be pushed out quicker (whilst while in comparison with charm to close dry) and the fabric will subsequently be "loosened" as to be much less decreased in length.
