Not seen it but heard a bizzare story you might like.
A cinema somewhere in the USA,Arizona i think, was showing the film to a packed audience when someone started screaming followed by a few more people who were sat near them. Then people started standing on chairs screaming and crying hysterically, when the management came in and turned on the lights they found 2 LIVE RATTLESNAKES that someone had released slithering under the seats!!
someone obviously thought it would be funny, bloody scary if you ask me!!!
Check under you seats folks!!

Here's a balanced view from someone who's seen the film, rather than someone judging it just from its title.

If Snakes on planes had hoped to become a cult film due to seeming like a B-movie with ironic post-modern references, it has not quite made it. The start of the film sets the tone- the drug barons are almost unintentionally laughable in their clichedness but the violence they use means that you can't just treat it as camp fun. The way this opening is used as a plot device for why the snakes are on the plane is so unpractical that it is unbelievable.

Considering that apparently the whole of the internet contributed to the script of this film, you would have thought that some more ingenius moments would have happened in the film but the snakes are - just snakes really- not really super-snakes- give or take 1, and they generally slither around under everyone's feet and occasionally attack someone for a brief moment.

The film really feel like it could have been condensed to about an hour without much problem. Close to all of the movie happens on the plane (which is just a relatively small, ordinary one too).
Though the tone of the film is sometimes jokey, it is neither an out and out spoof like the Scary Movie/Hot Shots films nor a clever spin such as Scream and any jokes are fogettable. The line that people most know from the movie has the same swear word repeated by Samuel L Jackson, partly seeming to reference his Pulp Fiction role or just his general no nonsense attitude.

Probably the most diappointing thing about Snakes on planes is that isn't 'so bad that it's good'. It's just average, like eating a passable meal that you forget about straight away. It's not visually striking at all and it was made for a relatively small amount (about $20 million- Samuel L will have got about half of that probably) And no, it's really not scary.

If you want to see a great film , see 'Cars'.

I seen it on Saturday night. For all the attention it's getting, it definitely was not that great of a flick. It's more comedic than anything. Honestly the possibility of snakes actually being on a plane down in the cargo area which isn't pressurized? Not at all likely.

Although this is a movie -- so anything is possible!

I'd check it out if you want a laugh and something to do for a few hours. Samuel L. Jackson is great as always.

"...Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfxcking snakes on this motherfxcking plane!"

It looks like I am the only one here old enough to have seen it, and I will tell you. It is probably the greatest movie I've seen all year.

If you have seen Final Destination 2, directed by the same guy, you will get an idea of the dark humor. This film is hilarious, action packed, scary, everything all rolled into one film.

And besides, if Samuel L. Jackson fighting muthafuckin snakes on a muthafuckin plane isn't enough to get you into a theater, then maybe this isn't for you. He is similar to his Pulp Fiction badassness, but badasser.

I saw it last week and thought it was crazy!!I wish I had seen it on dvd to rewind some of the parts.Everything happened so fast.I thought that some parts were very funny.I would have liked for it to be more scary.I did jump at maybe 2 parts that I bet you will jump at too.Any movie with Samuel Jackson I will see. He's the man and I'm still waiting for him to get a woman,no love scene but maybe a kiss for being the hero in his movies!

I have not seen it yet. Seems like a real stupid idea. I don't think snakes are a life or death situation, but a lot of people who have seen it say its good.

I thought it was the most stupid movie I'd ever seen. Not worth $7, more like half a cent.
