the hemoglobin is the protein in the Red Blood Cell's that carries the oxygen into the body and the Co2 out. If the level is too low you will feel wiped out and have low energy, Also called Anemia. Can have diff. reasons. Main one is blood loss and iron deficiency. The easiest way to restore that is to add iron supplements to your diet. It takes time and don't over do it. Stay with the recommended dose. You should also find out why you HGB level is low, you may need to seek other options.

Basically haemoglobin is the molecule responsible for oxygen transport on the red blood cell. a low count can be caused by multiple foctors and usually suppliments should help bring the levels up. try iron and vitamin B12 suppliments.

more information is needed. HOW low is it? What is your age/gender and medical history? What are the other indices?

This is truly a question for your primary care physician, who can look at the entire person and their situation to answer this appropriately.

Possiblities:
*Blood loss from the bowel, menstruation or having given birth recently.
*Infection, particularly malaria.
*Inborn errors of hemoglobin production, ie sickle cell, or thalassemia
*antibiotic use with bone marrow suppression.
*the list is too long to continue here

OR it may be that your hemoglobin is just barely below the normal range printed by the lab where the test was taken, and this level is normal for you.

Only when the answer to the first question is answered can the second question be addressed.
