My friend in Canada is in an abusive marriage and she needs help getting out of it. Does anyone have any tips?

I'm trying to help a friend get info that can help her deal with this abusive marriage that she wants to get out of. Any hints will be welcome. I'm zzzyzzx and you can email me there on yahoo......thanks

to be honest if she really wanted out she would have got out it is for her to decide and you can only be there when she does if youdo it for her she will just go straight back believe me I have helped loads of women do this.Just tell her that you are there for her give her some leaflets and leave things for her to decide it is an addictive relationship and like all addictions she must decide to leave it.

In Canada there are women's transition homes in most towns. I suggest she find one and go to it. They help with a place to stay, most are for a month. The men are not allowed on the premises. They also help with what the woman needs, courts, family services, and councillors. They are very supportive. Also another place to check out is a women's resource centre. They can also be quite helpful. There is alot of help out there. Hope she gets the help she needs. Don't put it off.

Hi from Canada, I know it is hard to get out because I have been there. But, she can go to the Haven House (womens shelter). They will help her and children if she has any. Its a safe place for battered women. It is hard to leave because they threaten (if you leave I will kill you etc...But, she would be better off in the long run.

u can lead a horse to water but u can't make it drink. provide her all the information (numbers to call, shelters, etc) but don't be surprised if, like so many other abused people, she stays with her abuser. good luck i hope it works.

yes, tell her to bite his willy off, it worked for Lorena Bobbit, and after she does that, she can put Anti Freeze in his gatorade...he's scum and deserves it anyway
