there is usually a motor for the wipers that may be damaged. a very old car may operate on a vacuum system that also might be damaged. Electrical wires may be damaged. I once had a car that the wipers went on for one sweep whenever I hit a bump. But if u cant get them on when it rains, take it to a repair shop.

The sensor in the wiper motor is bad
mine does this and thats what I have been told
Im going to run mine til they work no more..
To cure this problem the wiper motor must be changed

you should check if the motor runnng the wipers is functioning properly. That sounds like the logical course of action to. If it was dieing, then it wouldn't have enough power to complee its cycle

sounds like a wiper motor...most of the time you can pick this up at your local parts store..depending on your vehicle

Most often when I see that problem it is the wiper control module.

Look at the fuse and if it keeps blowing, then it could be the motor needs replacing.
