I'm going to write a romance novel and I need some good ideas. Not plots, or anything like that, but uhhh. (I'm sort of embarrassed asking this) kissing scenes. I've never really been good at writing kissing scenes, no matter how hard I try. What are some things I should mention during a kissing scene?

Think of the best kisses you've ever received..then describe them on paper. Then change them up a bit to reflect fiction.

example: When his lips brushed hers ever so softly, she shuddered. The built up passion they had for each other exploded and their lips opened to each other, tongues fervently exploring

I had a couple romance novels published. Any good editor will tell you to READ. Read as many as you can and disect the kissing scenes. Then have fun daydreaming about someone you'd love to kiss. What would it be like? Would he make the first move? Would you feel shy or just go for it? Etc.

As a card-wearing member (nicely, ok, they don't extremely supply us playing cards) of Romance Writers of u.s., a pro business organization to which basically about all printed romance authors (and some thousand aspiring authors) belong, I extremely could bounce in the following and protest that Nicholas Sparks, who has been pronounced numerous cases in those comments, isn't one people. He ought to write "romantic" novels, yet he hasn't ever written a romance novel, which RWA defines as "a crucial love tale with an emotionally pleasing and positive ending." Nicholas Sparks would not do satisfied endings. to respond to your question about men writing romance, they could and do write it. some write with their better halves, yet there are some who write as persons. As you communicate about, notwithstanding, they tend to undertake female pseudonyms. How can all of us blame them at the same time as there are nevertheless a small percentage of readers who would not purchase a romance novel written by technique of a guy? A male author who's counting on the romance marketplace needs to comprehend that the books are personality-pushed and emotion-charged. If he has a knack for writing romance, then brokers, publishers, and the community of romance writers are unlikely to commentary on his gender. Heck, lets even like to have Mr. Sparks if he ought to easily how you are able to write an upbeat ending! ;-)
