If Sharon was Alissa's good side, and the devil child the bad, then who was the girl left in the bed? Who was the woman on the table in the church when all the people were taken to hell? (I think) Yes, I watched the whole thing, but by that time I was nearky snoring.

The girl left in the bed was Alissa.Notice how her skin looks like it had been burned. The woman on the table was also Alissa. She was finally able to emerge from the dark corner of the hospital and get into the church to take her final revenge.
I also believe Sharon and Rose were killed in the car crash and all the people 'trapped' in Silent Hill died with in the coal fire. Alissa did not survive the night (so the cop said). I think they were in a holding hell long enough for someone to bring Sharon there so Alissa could get revenge and allow them all to go to the real hell.
These are theories. I have never played the game. But a lot of it was said in movie.

I believe that Sharon was Alissa's daughter...remember the scene where all the children at the school chase her into the washroom, and the custodian guy is there? I think that "something happened" (I don't want to be graphic) and that set everything else in motion-they tried to "burn the sinner who was carrying sin" so to speak.

I would like to say i could explain the ending but i fell asleep and honestly was quite disguised by the whole thing. The point of it only seemed to be how gross can we make this movie. It was dumb!

Well first off, it's NEVER a good idea to make a videogame movie. Second off, videogame movies ALWAYS SUCK and ALWAYS demean and make the videogame its based on look stupid. So, stop encouraging said videogame movies and realize it'll never make sense because the people making the movie don't know crap about the game. The End.

iT was a set up ending for a sequel like the game it was made from. Oh ya and it sucked.
