The US provides a lot of moral support for Israel. But the US isn't part of the solution for the conflict between Lebanon and Israel. The US won't tell Israel what to do and Lebanon can't tell Hezbollah what to do.
The UN could be the solution but they are part of the problem. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization with some political clout in Lebanon. The UN won't take any decisive action against ANY terrorist organization or rogue countries. When the tiger has no teeth or claws no one respects it.

The US is a major supporter of Israel and committed to peace in the region. The UN members from those counties and neighboring ones push to get the UN involved. ( It's how the UN works )
