Take deep breaths hold them then let them out.
Remember that nothing is as important as it seems at the time
Remember all your successful conclusions
Don't take life too seriously, it is over way too soon

Some people, such as myself, thrive on stress. Others fold. It is natural for the vast majority of people to feel stressed out even if there is, in reality, little stress in their life. It depends upon their life pattern of handling minor stresses growing up. It's how you view the so-called stressors that makes the difference.
Start a list today of the stresses as they occur to you. If you can, list the stresses that appeared yesterday. Do this for at least a week and then take a critical look at the lists and cross off those things that we all deal with such as traffic, little time for lunch, running to make an appointment or pick up the kids, etc. Accept that these kinds of annoying stresses will occur again and again. Then, prioritize what is left, recognizing that we must view the big ones as our cross to bear given the life style we are living. I have never felt the stress of my challenging career because I love the work, I am very experienced and talented in the field and get fired up knowing I have to accomplish a lot in a little time. Yes, I know, I am weird. Maybe you are not involved in things you enjoy or you have not mapped out a time line when all the drugery now will result in a great payoff. Don't take it personal when you can't get it all done in a day. Refuse people who demand your attention when you know it will put you in a bind. Be polite but firm with people in general. Simplify your lifestyle by getting rid of the unnecessary because you can always, after getting breathing room, add on things and people. If you are a person who holds all the frustration in, maybe you should take a page from newscaster Howard Beale in the great film, "Network," and just open up the window and scream, "I've had enough and I'm not going to take it anymore." He did it on camera and that inspired the entire city to follow suit. Once you simplify your lifestyle and environment you can distill it all down to a bottom line. What's the worst that can happen? You lose a lot of friends and family. Been there, done that. Life goes on.
If you are not really in to the do-it-yourself method described above, your local community college offers courses in stress management, time management and life planning among many others. Also, really good books are published that give one a whole bunch of realistic ways to handle stress in this complicated and often threatening world we live in. Good luck.

I handle stress many ways. I would sometimes keep a journal and write all my stressful events down so I can look at it from another angle instead of them all cluttering in my head. I also talk to people about them, like family members and friends, just basically anyone I trust. Sometimes I play instruments or go on a brisk walk to get rid of stress. There are many different coping techniques. You just have to find the one that works for you. Even doing something relaxing, like watching tv or chatting with a friend, can minimize stress Just any enjoyable activity. I can adapt to change pretty well. I'm pretty versatile.

Stress coping is not difficult to achieve if you determine external and internal factors leading you to stressful outcomes, analyzing objectively how real and easy to handle they can be.
