Diapers are not for the baby's benefit, but for the parent's.

Many countries around the world do not use diapers on babies. If they were necessary, all babies would be born wearing diapers!

Now, I do use diapers on my babies, but I also take them to the potty when I think they might need to go so the tender skin can stay clean. I also have times when I let them get fresh air and relax without a diaper.

Cloth diapers are healthier for the baby's skin than plastic ones that have a lot of perfumes and chemicals in them.

Cloth is the best way to go if you are going to diaper a baby. There are other alternatives to this process, some have been referenced in previous answers.

Stay away from disposables as much as possible.

I'm incontinent and even I use cloth diapers. Disposables are bad for us and the environment.

Good luck and congratulations on the baby.

I swear by pampers swaddlers! My daughter has only had 1 diaper rash in 3 1/2 months!

No, babies should not have to soil themselves. My 3 month old pees and poops on the toilet, not in a diaper. Plus it limits their ability to move and may delay things like being able to roll over because of the bulk.

Diapers are great for newborn its also convenient for you. You don't have to worry about washing the cloth diapers one which are a pain in the butt.

I've always preferred cloth, but my son was allergic to the chemicals in diapers from store, so I kinda had to use cloth.

in relation to???

Messes that you have to clean up - well yeah but giving the tushie time to air out is good too!!!

Do you mean which one is best???? It's going to depend on the baby - my little girl had no problems with the cheaper ones, but when I tried buying the more expensive ones she broke out like CRAZY!!!
