No of course he can't - he's a pretending.
Take this example a description of a so-called possession of Ancorah by the famous Witchfinder General of Cromwell's England as shown on Most Haunted over Easter 2004. Sam is his er.... "spirit guide", Fielding the co-presenter.
" Before Acorah was "taken over," he entered the room, and immediately said he felt sick, a feeling I was rapidly sympathizing with. He made statements such as, "He's here!" and "It's him." Fielding questioned him over and over, and Acorah eventually said, "Hopkins," "Thank you, Sam," and then, after repeating "Hopkins" several times, he said "Andrew Hopkins! It's him, Andrew Hopkins!"
A puzzled-looking Fielding said, "Who?"
"Andrew Hopkins," came the response.
"And what relation is he to Matthew Hopkins?" asked Fielding.
I smiled. Widely.
Stuttering followed: "Andrew… er… Andrew… er… Andrews… Hopkins… Andrews and Hopkins."
I smiled wider.
Being the true professional, Acorah managed to twist it back round to Matthew Hopkins and said that he could also sense James Hopkins, Matthew's father. This could not be verified, as his parents are not listed in any history book. "

There is a third possibility: outright fraud. There is no legitimate proof that there are any real psychics at all, but there is more evidence than can easily be tallied to demonstrate that the vast majority of psychics are fake.
