3 of my cousins have endometriosis and my symptoms are exactly like theirs. I get extreme cramping in my lower abdomen 2 - 3 days before my period starts and it stays right until the last day. I have seen a doctor but they won't do anything about it. They say to take Midol, but it does nothing.

So see another doctor and get a second opinion.

Simple solution. Find another doctor who will listen to your concerns and family history. Endometriosis is nothing to mess with.

However, your period does get more painful the older you get. It's just part of life.

I still say find another doc, though

How old are you? I only ask that because some young women experience heavy cramping. Do you experience mood swings? Pms can be aweful. You can ask your dr to do a complete hormone level check on you and if that comes back normal, ask for an ultalsound. Trust me, been there done that. I hope you find normal results.

If you are young, like under 30, go see a doctor and live with it the best you can. If you are 40 plus, you may want to opt for a hysterectomy. I had a total hysterectomy 8 years ago for the same and THE ONLY PROBLEM OS FINDING THE RIGHT BALLENCE OF HORMONE REPLACEMENT. i WISH YOU THR BEST.sorry I hit caps lock.

its sounds very similar to the problems I experience. Only, my problem is with cysts and they tend to pop which beleive it or not, releives some of the pain!

You need to get a second opinion. You gyn isnt doing enough to ease your mind, and until you get that, and get some sort of pain management, it will continue to worsen.

If it is severe enough, go to the ER. They will give you pain meds and an ultrasound to find out whats going on.

Find a new doctor! Unless they ran tests to prove it's nothing, they should not dismiss your concerns.
