2) barrel length
3) barrel width
4) how the swivel worked
5) what the body looked like
6) how big the wheels were.
7) What type of magazine was used in the Civil War

Check Wikipedia for a start. I have the research material that could answer you, but it's at home. There are several references: The Social History of the Machine Gun, any pictorial book on modern weaponry, or any military weaponry book that has machine gun in the title. The 1862 model is one of the earliest--check for weaponry of the Civil War, or the frontier. If nothing shows up on the web in Wiki, try Powell's Bookstore in Chicago or Portland--that's where I got my books. B.

Your best way to learn more is to search on the Internet. I'm sure there is much information about the Gatling.
