I've never played paintball before, and I am playing with some friends this weekend. What do I need to know to be able to compete and be successful?

stay low move fast and above all take no prisoners and avoid being hit at all cost because it hurts like heck

you cant learn to much over the internet. ive been paintballin for years now and the best way to learn is just get out there and do it. you will pick up on it. but some tips are stay low. always have some sort of cover that you can hide behind. never take your mask off even if it fogs up just take a rag and whipe under it but keep it protecting your eyes. and as for aiming high, it depends on your gun. i dont really get much drop from my gun until about 100yd then it starts to drop.

Don't look down the barrel (duh), don't worry about getting hit (you will), Don't drink more than a beer an hour, And Don't take off your Safety Glasses.
And don't try to re-use pellets you find on the ground, chances are they have been there a while (over night will do it) and will plug up your gun when you need it.
Do have fun, and plan to relax the next couple of days. Your muscles will let you know when you can get up and start moving again.

keep your arms tucked in and as little of you exposed as possible, and aim a bit above your target as paintballs drop. never take off your mask during play even if you get out, someone might not realize you are out and shoot you in the face, someone i know lost an eye
