my friend left her partner and wanted to claim benifits as she didnt want to leave small baby. she has worked for 10 yrs and only wanted benifits till child was at school. she was had to wait 4 weeks for any money and in the meantime was given two carrier bags of food. as she had nothing.wich would be fair enough but asylum seekers get not only the benifits (a s a p) but food vouchers as well when she was told take what your given(very degrading i think)

this country has the only government that doesnt look after its own people especially those who work all hours and are taxed highly to help fund the system, it spends to much time and money trying to impress other EU countries on how good at being politically correct we are. this once Great country is fast becoming the TOILET of EUROPE

Your friend is no different to anyone else in her situation.
Asylum seekers do not get state benefits, they are not allowed to claim it. They cannot claim until they get leave to remain and are eligible for work. They are funded from central government pot that is specifically aimed at refugees, other European countires do the same.
Don't believe everything you read in the press.

no they dont! this is a myth put about by the BNP to induce racial hatred, dont believe the hype. Benefit entitlement is the same for everyone
What benefit is your friend claiming? sounds like possibly income support which shouldnt take that long to clear as they are done as priority cases. Also she will be entitled to payments through the CSA so she needs to contact them ASAP
