if you had told me that we would be able to communicate like this i would have laughed and thought it ridiculous. Technology nowdays is amazing. i remember programming in BASIC for hours to get the colour of my monitor to change from red to green! But where will it end? what technology do you think we will have 20 years from now? will we be able to communicate using holographic images of ourselves?

This is one of my favorite questions to ponder.
Technology is becoming smaller and more integrated. We are on the verge of the nanotech age. In 20 years we will probably see the first quantum computers, which use qbits instead of the binary bits that today's computers use. Quantum computers will do thousands of parallel processes, instead of single or "dual core" processing of today's computers. How will Nanotech and Quantum computers change our lives? They say these technologies will have a bigger impact than any other previous advances in history. the world will be so different, it will make Star Trek look antiquated.
Nanomachines will be smaller than single-celled organisms and they could be programmed to do anything. It will be like the thing in Terminator 2 that could take any shape and do anything. They could also be programmed to go into your body and kill viruses, or change the shape or structure of parts of your body. You could instantly look any way you want. They will be able to program them to reverse the effects of aging on your body, so you could live forever and never grow old.
This sounds far-fetched, but these are things that are really being researched right now. They will not be a reality for probably several generations, mainly because the funding is so low, Less than 1 billion dollars per year.
Nanotech is currently being used to create microfiber materials, and the next things to come out will be data storage devices that store hundreds of times more than our current hard drives.
Noone can really predict what the world will be like in 20 years. But we do know what kind of technologies are on the horizon.

we will be able communicate with holographic image.
Next 20 year will age of communication lead by revolution in Mobile phone. most Mobile phone will 20 or 30 time faster than the current desktop one.
the other field that develop is artificial intelligence that will help the make human in artificial way thing and planning

20 years from now, we may very likely be communicating with holographic images. I cant think of what technology we may have- roll up televisions, hovercrafts, and multi environment vehicles( can travel on land, sea and air) to name some possibilities.

Perhaps. It's possible. A great saying is a humans only limit is their mind, the things they can imagine, if you can imagine it, it's very likely a plausability. That's not saying we'll have an unlimited source of technology...we'll destroy ourselves with this very technology long before then.

Nanotechnology
- defined as as "the understanding and control of matter at dimensions of roughly 1 to 100 nanometers, where unique phenomena enable novel applications."
Nanotechnology is already impacting the field of consumer goods. eg. Quantum computers - Entirely new approaches for computing exploit the laws of quantum mechanics for novel quantum computers, which enable the use of fast quantum algorithms.
But nanotechnology carries many health, environmental and social risks.

I'm not sure, but whatever technology is available in 20 years time, i do hope that i arent bored sh*tless again by you asking me another dull-as-f*ck question.
*
Awww, did i strike a nerve mr IRA man? Do we all like stereotyping now? Shall i come up with a thick Irishman joke, or would i then be just as bad as you?
No wait, my intellect would never stoop to such low levels.
Lemonny wemonny wolly pop anyone? Awwww.
Awww, that brainless you now have to start copying what i'm saying?
That bothered by what i'm saying you have to "search" through my profile to try to exercise some kind of power in that failed life of yours?!?!?! LOFL
To make it simple for you mr baby waby, how about:
1. Find some friends.
2. Find a girlfriend.
3. Perhap's even get a hobby!
4. Oh, and try not to apply everything you read on someones Yahoo Profile to them! Remember more than one person might use the same account, but then how would a dull, narrow-minded person like you be aware of that!
5. And please go ahead and make a joke out of brain tumours. I'm sure you'll still be laughing when a family member dies from one.
6. But then thats what we'd ALL expect of someone as dimwitted as you. No doubt you also think violence is the best way to sort out a problem as well. But hey, that isnt primitive at all is it?
Wolly pop anyone?
* Lol. Yes I am rattled. It's why i searched through your enitre profile answering 5 day old questions, trying my hardest to get back at someone who has clearly riled me. It's cringeworthy. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time?
Perhaps you should try programming yourself some friends! You might need to download the ****.exe patch though! In any case, I love contradictory people - you are making me piss myself laughing!!
I mean, i was just saying your q was dull, which is an accurate observation. To then make a joke out of brain tumours i find more than a little disgusting and to hear such a thing from an Irishman - surely they tell you in the land of the clover never to tempt fate my foolish apprentice!
I'll send some flowers for the impending funeral then...

As long as we can find a sustainable way of generating electricity to power all of our gadgets. Without this basic commodity, we may all have to revert to letters written by candle light!
