It may be a matter of pride with him. Or control.
If you can suggest some options sometimes without seeming to over-ride his decision making process it might work.
For instance: Let's say you have been needing a new recliner for ages. You might say, "Someone mentioned that such-and-such a store is running a special on recliners, you might want to look them over and see if they have one you like." Ten-to-one he'll think it was all his idea. :-)

If he's been like this since you've known him, then it isn't a surprise to you. But if he changed after you married him, then it's more serious. Marriage is suppose to be 50 50. If He has to CONTROL everything, then I'd say you got your hands full there.
It's ok to Love him and try to make things better, so don't get me wrong. But, some people are who they are and they won't change. Besides if You are trying to change him, then that's not good. Life isn't fare but yet it isnt that everlasting either. You should be Enjoying your partner." Think about what you just asked Us out here and you'll be surprised that You already know the answer to your own question. (wink)

He is stuck in between marriage and bachelorhood. He wants to be in both places at the same time! I would not suggest you to leave him as in divorce, but it may be a good idea to stay away for a while so that he knows that you are serious, that you want to move forward in a positive way and you cannot be held as a hostage on square one of marriage life.

Start with little things and start taking some of the control back. Your husband is a very controlling person. It not healthy in a relationship for one person to make all the decision eventually there will be a break in the relationship

ok you claim you psoek with him ont hisissue before , but yet he still has not HEARD you.You allow this to continue ? WHY ?
Seems your husband careless about your feelings and gives even less attention to your interests and words. he shows no respect for you or your opinion and you still stay ?
And you wan tadvise on how to CHANGE HIM ?
LOL lady wake up , he has not listened to you and the way you are putting it HE will not listen.
So why are you still with this jerk ?
Why love someone who is not respecting you and listening to your feelings ?
Time to put your foot down or better yet up his butt so he will listen !
Stop beign a mouse and let him know you want to be heard or you are outta there for good !

If you can't make him see the error of his ways than find someone that can. Go to a counselor and get a 3rd party to help him realize that marriage is a PARTNERSHIP not a DICTATORSHIP. Do you have a job? If so start witholding your money until he gets the hint.

Dont fuss over the small things believe me in a few yrs you will have to give him more advice than you have so stick it out and remember dont sweat the small things thats what will ruin the relationship.
