Yes it does, and I believe you can do it anywhere-at least where I live you can (Maryland). Call your local bike dealership or MVA/DMV to find out. You have to check specifically because state laws differ.

Yes you do need to have your motorcycle inspected once a year just like automobiles.
In my state you can only get your bike inspected at an "authorized motorcycle inspection station".
-New motorcycle dealers usually have an authorised certification so they can inspect their bikes at the time of sale instead of bringing the bike somewhere else to get an inspection sticker.
-Used bike shops have a certification because that brings in work. If a bike need tires or brakes to pass inspection, they'll do the repairs right then.
-Automobile dealerships and repair shops don't bother getting an inspection certificate to repair motorcycles because they have to pay for the certification and pay each year to keep it. They need seperate inspection stickers and the extra paperwork adds to their work load. So they don't bother.
-Like the others before me said, it can vary from state to state. Next time you go to a gas station that does repairs, ask if they inspect bikes. Check with local auto repair shops. Otherwise a motorcycle repair shop is your only choice.
Do a web search for "(your state) DMV".

Well in Texas you have to find an inspection place that has someone that can drive one legally. If you go to your state website for the Dept. of Public Safety/Transportation they should have a listing of what shops do inspections on motorcycles.

Laws vary from state to state but I would say more than likely yes. In my home state a bike has to be inspected once a year. This is for safety and emissions. It is a good idea anyway if done by a experienced bike mechanic just for your own peace of mind. Checks your tire tread, lights, noise level etc. This may also keep you from getting an unwanted ticket from the pollice cause youi didnt know the bulb was out around your tags or whatever.

If your buying a new bike taking it to a traind motorcycle mechanic would be a good idea to make sure your buying a machine which is in good working order, and safe for that matter.

If you own one it's always good like any car to do regular routine maintenance, oil changes, filters and gaskets, etc....

If you bike has been in storage or sitting for a long period of time it will probably need a carb clean, oil change, and battery charge before you get going.

When plating your motorcycle for the first time in indiana you have a submit it for BMV inspection which usually involves the clerk looking out the window at your bike and saying "yep, its a bike" then handing you your plate.

I live in California, have had motorcycles since 1980, and have never heard of motorcycle inspections! Your state may be different.

Inspections? you mean state Safety/ Emissions? Yes, any state inspection station ought to be able to get you all set up, in most states, however, motorcycles need only to be safety inspected....tread, brakes, lights, etc.....

It's different in different states. Floriduh for example, requires no inspection on any vehicles, or vay-hickles as they say here. New York and California on the other hand, do require inspection.

yes it definately needs an inspection. the sticker goes on your plate...just so the cops can see it easy,or pull you over faster.. start with a bike shop for the sticker, but most inspection stations do them....
