i would just catch it with my hands.. they dont really bite and if they do it doesnt hurt and they arent poisonous...if u want u can just use gloves

Hi Fred,
I think what your talking about is when a hay field is cut and baled a garter snake can inadvertently get caught up by the machinery and wind up in a hay bale. If they aren't killed in the process you can have one come out of the bale later.

Usually garter snakes will figure out a way to get out of the hay bale by themselves. They aren't poisonous. They do have bad tempers though. Just leave it alone.

you just pick it up .. gruarders aren't poisious.
you can also pick it up with a pitch fork.
