tell him. it's much more common than you think. i just got back from spending a week at my in-laws place and did the same thing. when i was younger, even to urinate i'd turn on the tap to help me get things started. your nervous system is what works the passing and the way it works is that your smooth mucscles that line your digestive tract basicly turn on when you relax and shut off when you are nervous. it's a natural thing and i don't see how you should be embarrased about it. you can find a way to tell him, he's your husband. good luck.

It's not funny... yes, it's psychological. But also practical. The sound from the tap camouflages whatever other sounds there might be, and so's the idea of imitating expulsion or parallel release. Explain it to your husband, I bet he'll understand... and you also get brownie points for such honesty.

Try to make it light and tell him. You are married. My wife goes to the toilet with the door wide open. Bottom line is, you can get used to everything when you are married, it is part of sharing. Try to find the humor for both and maybe it will even turn out to be less of a problem for you to go to the bathroom.

try turning on the bathroom fan for noise. I used to do the same thing with the water, and sometimes still will if my hubby is in the office next to the bathroom. It's just a privacy thing

A couple of my friends have told me they do the same - it's not a situation I would define as extremely unusual or embarrassing in any way, so just tell him. He's your husband - he should understand and not bother too much :)

How about recording the water running and listening to the tape when you need to go. Only you will be able to listen. If you feel uncomfortable about telling him then don't.
By the way this will save you money on your water bill.

Tell him about it...if it's something your used to, he should get used to it as well. If he asks a lot of questions about your "condition" then is he worth it? He should love you for whatever situation you're in...
tell the truth, the truth will set you free... :) :) :)

water waster.... Just tell him... it may be embarassing for you and hilaroius for him but maybe he could help you break it. have your husband shut the water off as soon as you start passing the bodily solid... make it a team effort.... I don't know.... I'd just tell him though... I know he is a man.. (I think) but he should understand.
