India is a developing country, and to answer your third question suggests, the caste system hinders its ability to fully reach a developed status. The caste system has existed for quite a long time, and it just doesn't seem to be disappearing. The rich remain rich while the poor starve and can only hope for a job like being the rich people's servant. As long as this system exists, there would be inequality, and India will never fully develop.

India must get rid of this and provide better education to the poor. The top get the best education, often becoming doctors, and continue to support their families, keeping the wealth. The poor can't afford an education and are stuck in the pit. The government must set up welfare programs so the poor can break the barrier.
