my nintendo DS is doing the exact same thing, it doesn't recognise the ip address it's been assigned and won't connect to nintendo wifi. it told me to check the DHCP settings, maybe that will help you. also, check your instructions, the troubleshooter section, my DS's instructions were pretty conclusive. and check the x box website, nintendo have a section specifically for this, so i'm sure x box will too.

Check your Xbox's network settings and make sure it's set to get an IP address through DHCP. Make sure your cable is good. Also, unplug the cable from you Xbox and try plugging it into your computer- see if the computer gets a connection.to the Internet.

turn off the xbox and uplug the modem for 10 seconds so it can reset itself. Plug the modem back in first and let it set up, then turn your xbox back on.
