What you say is true. However, you also need to realize that you cannot concentrate your whole person/being to the war. Unless you volunteer or are called to duty, you actually can't do anything. You can pray for them and support them by writing to them. However, people need a break from all the sadness and this is one way to do it. You cannot make people think of bad things all their lives. You can get real messed up that way. Why would you want to be that way? Life has to be more than war! Try to adjust to other things and not concentrate on one thing. The war wasn't something that we wanted. However, since we are there now, we need to support the soldiers. Life is give/take and people need a break sometime. Look at the people who go overseas to entertain. Don't you think the soldiers need a break too?

My brother was stationed overseas and any outlet whether it was an award show or a funny movie or some stupid reality show, it made me forget for a few hours that he might not come back. The reason people like the fashion is because it's a life so many of us dream about. I would love for fashion designers to want me to wear their dresses. But the main thing is that you can't always focus on the negative or it'll get you depressed and angry that our soldiers are dying. And just because some people like award shows doesn't mean we don't care about our troops. I pray for them all the time. Maybe our soldiers should get a chance to get dressed up like that and have an award show for them. Would you watch that even if a lot of the attention was focused on fashion for the female soldiers.

I couldn't agree more!!!! People are dying to protect our freedom so that we can have stupid BS popularity contest awards shows and all the media and celebrities can do is rag on the troops.
And what do celebs do for society? They entertain us. They don't protect us, keep us safe, educate us, keep us clean...we need awards shows to celebrate the soldiers, police, teachers, fire fighters, garbage collectors, and everyone else who actually contributes to society.

Its so sad when we turn our heads from the catastrophes in the world just to make sure we don't miss another episode of the "Simple Life".
